Field Layout Engineer
Requirements
- Performing General Physical Activities: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of reading blueprints
- Surveying, civil engineering, construction CAD, or similar background preferred.
- Must be highly detail-orientated and task driven.
- Valid license and clean driving record
- Basic construction skills (use a hammer, shovel, etc.)
- Knowledge of proper use of a tape measure
- Dependability: Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions. Meets commitments; Follows policies and procedures
- Observe safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate robotic total station instrument.
- Reads and reviews architectural and structural plans.
- Sets and marks stakes/points and elevations/grades.
- Prepare and set leveling plates with anchor bolts.
- Works with foremen and job supervisor to determine best approach to complete task.
- Maintains survey equipment and tools.
- Ability to navigate to job sites in MA, NH and VT with 7AM start time on site.
- Reports to Director of Field Engineering.
