CAD Technician (Computer Aided Drafting Technician)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our team and support our field engineering operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer-aided drafting and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the project tracker
  • Review architectural, structural, rebar, and anchor bolt plans
  • Create control request plans for general contractors and surveyors
  • Draft CAD files with essential information for field crews
  • Update CAD files based on plan revisions and communicate changes to field crews
  • Identify and communicate complex foundation details to the management team
  • Write RFIs for conflicting, missing, or changed information
  • Provide elevation plans for complex formwork
  • Address plan-related queries from foremen
  • Review and prepare as-builts for general contractors
  • Assist field crews with as-builts and layout when required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Proficiency in CAD software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to read and interpret various types of construction plans
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Director of Field Engineering.
